President Zardari Approves Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for Cardinal Joseph Coutts

Islamabad: On Independence Day, President Asif Ali Zardari approved awards for 104 individuals in recognition of their services to Pakistan. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on March 23 next year.




In a proud moment for the Catholic Church in Pakistan, the name of Cardinal Joseph Coutts has also been approved for the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by President Asif Ali Zardari for his dedicated service to Pakistan. This honor recognizes Cardinal Coutts’ tireless efforts in promoting interfaith harmony, education, and social welfare in the country.

A total of 104 individuals have been selected for awards in recognition of their services to Pakistan, with Cardinal Coutts being one of the esteemed recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on March 23, acknowledging the contributions of these individuals in various fields, including public service, literature, science and technology, education, health, arts, sports, and social and public service.

The Catholic Church in Pakistan rejoices at this recognition of Cardinal Coutts’ remarkable contributions. His dedication to the country and its people is a testament to the Church’s values of love, care, and service.

Other notable awardees include former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, who will receive the Nishan-e-Pakistan for his public service contributions, and Arshad Nadeem, who will be awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his achievements in sports.
