Vocation comes from God, keep yourself prepared – Bishop Samson

Hyderabad (Br. Zubair): The closing ceremony of the summer study program for the major seminarians and vocation program was held at St. Bonaventure’s Minor Seminary Mirpurkhas on Tuesday 25th July 2023.
His Excellency Bishop Samson Shukardin (Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad) was the chief guest and Very Rev. Fr. Sabir Sadir (Vicar General of Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad) and Rev. Fr. Sunil Ashraf (vocation team member) was present in these programs.

The welcome program was organized by Fr. Yasir Talib (Rector of Minor Seminary) and Fr. William Emmanuel. Sindhi Cap and Ajrak were presented to His Excellency Bishop Samson Shukardin, Fr. Sabir Sadiq, VG of Hyderabad Diocese, and Fr. Sunil Ashraf, after that the major seminarians presented refreshments to all the guests.

The Summer Study Program and vocation program started with prayer after that there was Scripture reading. Fr. Sabir Sadiq was invited to share Priestly Spirituality. He highlighted the different aspects of Priesthood, he said that Holy Eucharistic celebration and performing the Sacraments is one aspect of priesthood but besides this, there are other major responsibilities of the priest. The students who came for the Vocation program emphasized the services the priest difficulties, problems, and challenges that a priest happily accepts.
Further on he said that vocation for the priesthood is the precious gift of God. If the youth wants to become a precious statue then you have to listen to the guidance of the formatters and you have to be obedient and accept whatever they say.

After the speech of Fr. Sabir Sadiq, a major seminarian Br. Shoaib Pervaiz was invited to share his vocation story, he thanked the teaching staff of the seminary, priests, and bishops who have granted him an opportunity to get an education in the seminary. After the vocation story of Br. Shoaib Pervaiz, all the major seminarians who participated in a summer study program, shared their learning experiences, they shared their learning experience of each subject; they all thanked the teaching staff, formatters, and His Excellency Bishop Samson Shukardin.

After sharing the learning experience all the activities of the summer study program for major seminarians were shown on the multimedia presentation, as they were seen busy with their studies, manual work, and spiritual activities, it was zealous for new candidates to live a systematic life.

After that His Excellency Bishop Samson Shukardin was invited to address the seminarians he said that Seminarians must be healthy mentally, academically, and spiritually. He said that the vocation is from God and we have to meditate and understand the Spirituality of Vocation, further on he explained that seminarians must be happy whatever they do they must do happily. God gives His grace to live our life according to His will. When we understand the idea of service then we live a humble and simple life.
In addition, he mentioned to the seminarians that Fr. Yasir Talib (Rector of Minor Seminary) and Fr. William were there to help you and to guide you for the whole month. They are there to assist you academically, spiritually, and morally and to grow in faith. The aim of this program was to educate well our seminarians.

In the end, he thanked the teaching staff, especially Sir. Azeem Lazarus and presented a token of thanks and love to him.
At the conclusion of the program Fr. Yasir Talib thanked Bishop Samson Shukardin OFM, Priests, and all the candidates and major seminarians and insured that the vocation team has been working hard for the vocation that the Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad may get spiritual and intellectual priests.
