His Excellency Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Arshad concluded the Pastoral Sharing Meeting with his beautiful address and first of all he made the vote of thanks. He also highlighted some challenges and problems which our parishes are facing such as self-made pastors, lack of funds and drug addicted people.
He said, “We should have computerized parish record according to the need of the time. We should become independent as a local catholic church by creating income generating resources and maintaining our expenditures of the parishes”, he continued.
“All the priests should encourage the catholic families to collaborate financially by introducing family cards to cover the expenditures of the parishes. We have to build our future local catholic Pakistani church. Priests must use the gifts or talents of their parishioners in the parishes. By doing this, it becomes a participatory church”, he added.
“Education, health and charitable works are the identity of Christians in Pakistan. We have to keep the standard up in these services. His Excellency invited all the priests, brothers, sisters and Christian congregation to reflect upon the Eucharist which is a gift of Our Lord Jesus Christ for us” he concluded.
Pastoral Sharing Meeting was well prepared by the hard- working of His Excellency Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Arshad, Fr. Kamran Taj and the members of the Pastoral committee of the Diocese of Faisalabad. This was concluded with Eucharistic Adoration and the Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament by Fr. Kamran Taj.
