Sheikhupura Parish Celebrates Jubilee with Great Fervor
Sheikhupura (Br. Istfan): On 26th January 2025, the St. Theresa Infant Jesus Parish, Sheikhupura witnessed a grand celebration of the Jubilee year with immense enthusiasm and devotion. A large number of faithful gathered to participate in the joyous occasion.
The festivities began with a procession, where the faithful sang hymns as they marched towards the church. The atmosphere was electrified with slogans and chants, showcasing the community’s fervor and dedication.

Fr. Yasser Raj, Fr. Rashid Alphonse, and Fr. Sanwal John jointly unveiled the Jubilee logo, while Br. Stephen Elon explained its significance to the congregation. The Jubilee door, aptly named the “Door of Hope” by Pope Francis, was then opened with great reverence.
A solemn Mass followed, led by Fr. Yasser Raj. The Fathers then lit the Jubilee candle, symbolizing the light of hope and faith. Fr. Rashid Alphonse delivered a poignant sermon, shedding light on the purpose, importance, and role of the Jubilee in the lives of the faithful.
The celebration continued with a tableaux and sketch depicting the Jubilee theme. Fr. Sanwal John read out the Jubilee message from the Pope, followed by the cutting of the Jubilee cake. The occasion concluded with the distribution of certificates to various parish groups and servants.
A Day of Joy and Reflection
The Jubilee celebration in Sheikhupura was a resounding success, bringing together the faithful in a spirit of unity, hope, and devotion. As the parish community looks forward to the rest of the Jubilee year, they do so with renewed faith, enthusiasm, and a deeper understanding of their role in the larger Christian community.
