Seven brothers embrace perpetual oblation in Rome
Rome: On 1st May 2024, in a solemn ceremony held at the Chapel of the General House of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Rome, seven brothers, including two from Pakistan took a profound step in their spiritual journey by professing perpetual oblation to the congregation.
Led by Fr. Luis Ignacio Rois Alonso, OMI, Superior General, the Holy Mass witnessed the perpetual profession of Br. Nouman Arif OMI, Br. Roche Maritathas OMI, Br. Mate Preg Garstecki OMI, Br. Slawuts Zbieranski OMI, Br. Babar Shahzad OMI, Br. Pasojo Henki Princia dell OMI, and Br. Navaratnaraja Ajmanthan OMI.

Fr. Luis Ignacio Rois Alonso, in his homily, expressed gratitude to the families and friends of the candidates, acknowledging their role in nurturing and supporting these men on their vocational journey. He described the candidates as gifts not only to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate but also to the Church and the poor.
The Superior General urged the candidates to embrace their perpetual oblation as a commitment to becoming agents of goodness in the world. Drawing inspiration from the humble abode of Nazareth, where Jesus, Mary, and Joseph lived, Fr. Alonso emphasized the importance of growing in faith, hope, and love, echoing the Oblates’ mission to be the yeast of goodness in the heart of the world.
The ceremony was a poignant moment of reflection and commitment, as the candidates vowed to dedicate their lives to God’s dream of proclaiming the Good News to the poor.
