Serve the Lord with Humility and Love, Bishop Indrias

Jhang: On August 8, 2024, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jhang, Diocese of Faisalabad, was abuzz with joy and thanksgiving as two momentous occasions unfolded! Sr. Ghazala Saleem OP took a significant step in her spiritual journey, making her First Profession of Vows, while Sr. Robina Inayat OP marked a remarkable milestone, celebrating her silver jubilee of dedicated religious life. The occasion was graced by the presence of His Excellency Bishop Indrias Rehmat, Bishop of Faisalabad Diocese, who presided over the Holy Mass. The congregation rejoiced and praised God for the commitments and dedication of these two faithful servants, Sr. Ghazala and Sr. Robina, as they continue to serve the Lord and His people.

The readings were taken from Leviticus, Second Thessalonians, and the Gospel was taken from the Gospel of St. Luke.

In his homily, Bishop Indrias Rehmat said that today is a joyful day for the Dominican sisters as we celebrate the first profession and jubilee celebrations of our sisters. The church decorations reflect the significance of this occasion.

I have known Sr. Rubina since my seminary days, and now she serves in Malta. Our sisters are doing remarkable work in Pakistan, not only in the church but also in the social sector. The first reading from Leviticus reminds us of the importance of jubilee, a time of renewal and dedication.

To our sisters, I offer these words of advice: remain strong in Jesus Christ, humble like our Lord. Emulate St. Dominic, who chose spirituality over materiality. Your profession is a choice between the two. May your lives bear fruit, reflecting the love and service of our Lord. Congratulations, dear sisters, on this milestone.
May God bless you abundantly.”

Sr. Francis OP, the representative of Sr. Marian Fardona, the superior of Dominican Sisters of Malta took the vow from Sr. Ghazala Saleem OP and the event was concluded on the thanksgiving remarks by Sr. Rubina Inayat OP.
