Regional Assembly 2024: A Journey of Unity, Love, and Spirituality
Quetta (Sr. Sumaira CSJ): The Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery Pakistan recently concluded their week-long regional assembly, held from July 10th to July 19th, 2024, in Quetta. The assembly was a momentous occasion, marked by spiritual growth, introspection, and a renewed commitment to the congregation’s mission and values.
Opening Address and Theme
The assembly commenced with a warm welcome by Regional Coordinator Sr. Shakila CSJ, who shared the agenda and set the tone for the gathering. The theme of the assembly, “Mission, Ministry, and Vows,” was eloquently addressed by General Superior Sr. Dolores Lahr CSJ via Zoom, emphasizing the importance of living out the congregation’s charism in today’s world.

Eucharistic Celebrations and Sessions
Throughout the assembly, the sisters participated in daily Eucharistic celebrations, which served as a source of spiritual nourishment and inspiration. Various sessions were facilitated by the General Council team, including Sr. Cristina Gavazzi CSJ, who led a discussion on the Mission Final Document 2021 via Google Meet. Sr. Celine CSJ also delivered a talk on Interculturality and CSJ Charism, highlighting the community’s connection to the world.
Reflection and Discussion
The assembly provided ample opportunities for reflection and discussion, allowing the sisters to delve deeper into the congregation’s mission, charism, and spirituality. They explored ways to embody the CSJ charism and mission in their daily lives, seeking to be more and to serve with love, care, and support.
Closing Ceremony and Symbolic Prayer
The assembly concluded with a symbolic prayer, reflecting on the Gospel of John 6:16-21. The sisters were reminded of their call to carry Jesus in their hearts, to trust in God’s guidance, and to navigate life’s challenges with faith and trust. Regional Coordinator Sr. Shakila CSJ handed over a symbol of a boat to the newly appointed Community Superiors, emphasizing the importance of being captains of their boats, fueled by trust and faith. The assembly closed with a sense of joy, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the congregation’s mission and values.
