Sr. Mariam Appointed to National Commission on Women
Islamabad: In a significant development, Sr. Genevieve Ram Lal (Mariam Parveen) SJM, National Director of the Catholic Women Organization, has been appointed as a Member of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) for a term of three years.
The appointment was made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan under Sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the National Commission on the Status of Women Act, 2012 (Act No: VIII of 2012). Sr. Genevieve’s name was nominated by Saiban-e-Pakistan, an initiative of Paigham-e-Pakistan, Centre for Peace, Reconciliation & Reconstruction Studies.
