Be obedient, humble & meek like Christ – Fr. Khan OMI

Faisalabad: The Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena organized a two-day seminar on the theme “Living the Evangelical Counsels as a Gift” at St. Joseph’s Society, Faisalabad from June 30th to July 1st, 2023. The seminar was facilitated by Very Rev. Fr. Khan Paulus OMI.

Within Christianity, the three evangelical counsels or counsels of perfection, namely chastity, poverty, and obedience, as stated by Jesus in the canonical Gospels, serve as guiding principles for those aspiring to attain spiritual perfection.

Fr. Khan Paulus OMI emphasized the significance of these counsels through the following three vows:

Firstly, as consecrated individuals, we are called to be witnesses to the world.
Secondly, our worth is not contingent upon material possessions.
Thirdly, we find sufficiency in God alone.
During his reflection, Fr. Khan expressed that a consecrated person is called to emulate Jesus, who obediently came into the world to fulfill his Father’s will. Therefore, he urged the consecrated individuals to cultivate humility and meekness, allowing them to be vessels of God’s grace and to manifest the merciful nature of God to the world.

The seminar culminated with a thanksgiving Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Khan Paulus OMI.
In conclusion, attendees were treated to a delectable meal, and the occasion also served as a celebration of Sr. Sozana’s birthday.
