New Bishop’s House Inaugurated in Islamabad-Rawalpindi Diocese
Rawalpindi: On November 9th, 2024, the Catholic Diocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi witnessed a momentous occasion with the blessing and inauguration of its new Bishop’s House. The ceremony was presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Joseph Coutts, alongside His Grace Archbishop Germano Penemote, the Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan, and the Bishops of the Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
A Gathering of Faith and Unity
The event brought together clergy from the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Diocese, guest priests from other dioceses, religious communities of fathers, sisters, and brothers, lay consecrated members, commissions in-charge of the diocese, school principals, teachers, students, and a large number of faithful. The collective participation of these groups made this occasion truly historic.

Holy Mass and Ceremony
The blessing ceremony commenced with a solemn Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Lalkurti, Rawalpindi Cantt. His Eminence Cardinal Joseph Coutts delivered heartfelt remarks, emphasizing the significance of this new chapter in the diocese’s history.
