Jubilee Year Celebration Held at St. Mary’s Parish, Jamke Cheema

Jamke Cheema (Babu Asif Ghauri): On 18th 2025, St. Mary’s Parish, Jamke Cheema-Sialkot, hosted a jubilee program themed “Year of Hope and its Characteristics: Role of Youth and the Faithful.” The event drew a large faithful of devotees who gathered to reflect on their spiritual journey and renew their commitment to their faith.




The program began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, followed by the lighting of the Jubilee candle by the priestly community. The faithful then lit their own candles from the Jubilee flame, symbolizing the spread of hope and light.

Fr. Shahzad OFM delivered a sermon emphasizing the importance of hope in overcoming challenges. He explained that hope is a spiritual force that helps us navigate difficulties and inspires us to work towards a better future.

The celebration also featured the opening of the “Door of Hope” at St. Mary’s Church, which was blessed with holy water. The event concluded with a Mass, led by Fr. Ajmal Shahbaz OFM, and a jubilee prayer recited by Babu Asher Suleman.

The program was attended by distinguished guests, including Fr. Ajmal Shahbaz OFM, Fr. Azeem John OFM, and Deacon Simson Peter. The pastoral team and church groups worked together to organize the event, which was hailed as a success.

The Jubilee Year, proclaimed by Pope Francis, is a time for spiritual renewal and growth. It is a call to action, urging Christians to work towards creating a more just and peaceful world. As St. Mary’s Parish celebrated this special year, they reaffirmed their commitment to spreading hope and light in their community.
