Islamic Council urged special courts to probe Sargodha incident
Islamabad: On 29th May 2024, Council of Islamic Ideology, chaired by Dr. Raghib Hussain Naimi, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on the Christian community in Sargodha. In an emergency meeting held on Wednesday, the council urged the establishment of special courts to swiftly punish those involved in the heinous crimes.
The council emphasized the need to prevent vigilantism and ensure that the law is not taken into people’s hands. They recommended setting up special courts that can operate day and night to hear cases related to the attacks and mete out exemplary punishments to the perpetrators.

The council’s meeting was held in response to the violent incidents that took place on May 25, 2024, in Sargodha, where Christian families were attacked and their properties vandalized. The council termed the attacks as “despicable” and “un-Islamic” and demanded that the culprits be brought to justice.
Dr. Naimi, Chairman of the Council, stated, “We strongly condemn the attacks on the Christian community in Sargodha and demand that the government take immediate action to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, regardless of their religion or faith.”
The council’s recommendations aim to ensure that such incidents are not repeated and that the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. The establishment of special courts will help to expedite the legal process and provide justice to the victims and their families.
