Eucharistic spirituality is a path of selfless love, Archbishop Benny
Karachi (Samson Boota): On 26th November 2024, a solemn ceremony held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Daragh Road, Karachi. Archbishop Benny Mario Travas conferred the Sacrament of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to 25 candidates from the Archdiocese of Karachi.
The ceremony was attended by candidates from St. John’s Parish (21), St. James Parish (2), and St. Thomas Parish (2). Archbishop Benny was warmly welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and a shawl before the Holy Mass.

In his homily, Archbishop Benny emphasized the importance of spiritual and personal preparation to receive the sacrament. He highlighted three key points: emptying oneself, breaking oneself, and giving oneself. “The Holy Eucharist is a process of giving oneself,” he said.
After the homily, Archbishop Benny conferred the Sacrament of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion upon the candidates. The newly ordained Extraordinary Ministers were presented with a cross and a Bible as a gift by the parish.
Fr. Shahzad Peter thanked Archbishop Benny, Fr. Nazir Nawab, the newly ordained Extraordinary Ministers, and all the guests who attended the ceremony.
This significant event marked an important milestone in the spiritual journey of the newly ordained Extraordinary Ministers, who will now serve as ministers of the Holy Eucharist in their respective parishes.
