Build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ- Abp. Christophe, Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan
KARACHI (Agahi News): The 63rd academic year at National Catholic Institute of Theology, Karachi was inaugurated on 31st August 2019. On the eve of the ceremony, His Excellency Archbishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis (Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan) was invited, along with His Excellency Archbishop Joseph Cardinal Coutts. The Eucharist Mass was presided over by Archbishop Zakhia with Fr. Indaryas Rehmat and Fr. Benjamin Shahzad, Rector Christ the King Seminary Karachi with other priests.
At the beginning of the academic session, Archbishop Christophe was welcomed with Sindhi tradition. The Honorable Fr. Andriyas Rahmat (Former Dean of Studies) briefly described the educational report. He also delegated all his duties and responsibilities to the newly elected Dean of Studies Fr. Shahbaz Nazir. Three new Professors Fr. Naveed Akhtar, Fr. Gulshan Barkat OMI, Fr. Johny Mendonosa were also welcomed at the occasion. Archbishop Christophe said, “These years of seminary training are so important that students learn more about recognizing their vocation and building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ”. In addition, he assured them that Pope Francis specially remembers Christians living in Pakistan in his daily prayers.
On this occasion, Cardinal Joseph Coutts (Chairman of NCIT) praised all educational promotional activities, causes of the institution.
Following the event, Excellency Cardinal Joseph Coutts and Archbishop Christophe attended the dinner with the students and staff of Christ the King Seminary. Archbishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis also spoke to the Seminarians about their expectations of the church and some aspects of their education and training.
