Blessing of 02 Churches in Sangla Hill by Abp. Sebastian Shaw
On March 15, 2023, His Grace Sebastian Francis Shaw, Archbishop of Lahore, paid his official Pastoral Visit to “The Holy Spirit Parish, Sangla Hill”. The Holy Spirit Parish, Sangla Hill is a mission station of the Missionary Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). It was on September 14, 2009, that the Holy Spirit Parish was handed over to the Missionary Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
The oblate priests who have so far served in the parish include Fr. Eric Lakhman (First Oblate Parish Priest), Fr. Khaliq Saleem, Fr. Nadeem Daniel, Fr. Amanat Chaman OMI, the Parish Priest, and Fr. Gulshan Barkat OMI. At present Rev. Fr. Akmal Patras OMI, the Parish Priest, and Fr. Mukhtar Alam OMI, the Assistant are catering to the spiritual needs of the faithful.

The pastoral visit includes the blessing of the two new chapels: St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church at Chathy Chak and St. Clarence Catholic Church at Clarence Colony. For this blessed occasion were present The Very Rev. Fr. Khan Paulus OMI, the Delegation Superior of Missionary Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, many priests, FTL sisters who work in the Holy Spirit Parish, and a number of the faithful of the parish. At St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, more than eighty people were sealed in the sacrament of Confirmation by His Grace.
His Grace Sebastian Francis Shaw congratulated Rev. Fr. Khan Paulus OMI, the Delegation Superior for their mission in Sangala Hill, Rev. Fr. Akmal Patras OMI, the Parish Priest, and Fr. Mukhtar Alam OMI, the Assistant for their dedicated and tireless services to the people of God in Sangala Hill Parish.
At the end of the day, Rev. Fr. Akmal Patras OMI, the Parish Priest, thanked His Grace, the Delegation Superior, all the priests & sisters, and all the faithful for blessing the day with their valuable presence.
