Sacred Heart Cathedral, Lahore Celebrates Annual Coronation Ceremony
Lahore: On 22nd October 2024, the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Lahore was filled with devotion and reverence as the faithful gathered for the Annual Coronation Ceremony of Mother Mary. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Grace Benny Mario Travas, Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Lahore.
A Guiding Light for Families
In his homily, Archbishop Travas reflected on Mary’s role as a guiding light for families seeking to live according to God’s will. He emphasized Mary’s humility and obedience, inviting all present to look to her as a model of faith.

“Mary teaches us to be silent listeners of God’s word, to meditate on it, and to live it out daily,” Archbishop Travas said.
The archbishop highlighted three virtues that Mary exemplifies for families:
- Embracing God’s word with silent reflection
- Courageously bearing life’s crosses in pursuit of God’s will
- Becoming a source of joy and peace within the family
Gratitude and Acknowledgment
The celebration concluded with words of gratitude from Fr. Rafhan Fayyaz, Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral. He thanked the archbishop, clergy, religious, and all participants.
Fr. Rafhan acknowledged those who worked tirelessly to make the event a success, making this year’s coronation ceremony a meaningful spiritual experience for the community.
