Marian Pilgrimage Honors Blessed Virgin Mary at Antonyabad
Anthonyabad, Okara (Ijaz Bhatti): The 03-days, 69th Annual Pilgrimage to Mary in Okara concluded with a memorable Holy Mass led by His Excellency Bishop Indrias Rahmat, Bishop of Faisalabad Diocese at Anthonyabad, Okara Parish. The event, held from 11th to 13th October 2024, drew devotees from various regions, including Chak No. 10, 11, and surrounding areas, who joined the programs in true religious spirit.
Day 1 commenced with a traditional Rosary prayer and Coronation ceremony organized by the Dominican Sisters, along with St. Anthony High School students and staff. Fr. David John led the Holy Mass, while Fr. Clarence Hayat OFM Cap delivered detailed homily on ” Muqadssa Mariam Umaton ki Maa’n (Mary, Mother of Nations)”.

On the 2nd day, Fr. Younis Inayat led the Holy Mass, and Fr. Ejaz Hayat delivered a beautiful message on “Muqadssa Mariam Rahbar e Naujawan (Mary, Guide of Youth)”. Ms. Tahmina Tarq and Mrs. Magdalene Boota enthralled the audience with hymns.
On 3rd day, Bishop Indrias Rahmat was warmly welcomed. He presided over the Holy Mass. In his homily, he emphasized Mary’s role in family life, urging families to emulate her virtues. He noted that Mary serves as an exemplary model for families, exemplifying responsibility, care, service, love, loyalty, and fulfillment of God’s plan. The bishop urged the congregation to incorporate the saints’ lives into their families, thereby pleasing God.
The successful event was made possible by the tireless efforts of the pilgrimage committee, rosary group, altar servers, security personnel, stage secretaries, and numerous volunteers. Fr. Abid Tanveer, Parish Priest expressed gratitude to all participants, including clergy, sisters, and guests.
