Annual Rally of Altar Servers at St. Michael’s Parish, Karachi
Karachi (Master Sabir Mushtaq): On 25th August 2024, the annual rally of Altar Servers was held at St. Michael’s Parish, Karachi where Fr. Dilawar Samuel led the Holy Mass, joined by Fr. Barnabas George, Fr. Waqas Brian, Fr. Dawood Javed, Br. Wilson, and Br. Anees.
In his homily, Fr. Waqas Brian emphasized the significance of the Holy Cross, saying it is a message of consolation for us. He also spoke about the Eucharist, explaining that just as we receive the body & blood of Christ in the Holy Mass, we also receive life. He reminded the Altar Servers that their calling is to follow Christ, which means passing through the waters of baptism, receiving the seal of confirmation, and becoming part of the body of Christ through the Eucharist.
Addressing the Altar Servers, Fr. Waqas Brian said that they were chosen by the Holy Spirit and had offered themselves for this service.

After the homily, new Altar Servers were blessed and dedicated. Approximately 30 new servers were dedicated, joining the existing 170 servers from all regions of the parish in the rally. The rally was the result of hard work by the Altar Server teachers, who had prepared the children well. Each region had also prepared its own church flag, which was carried during the procession. Parents and faithful also participated in the rally, which concluded with a Holy Mass and tableaux presented by the four regions.

At the end, Fr. Barnabas George thanked all the children, parents, teachers, faithful, and the pastoral team for their participation and hard work. The rally concluded with a final prayer and blessing.
A Day of Spiritual Renewal
The annual rally of Altar Servers was a day of spiritual renewal and rejuvenation for the servers, teachers, and faithful of St. Michael’s Parish, Karachi. It was an opportunity for the servers to come together, renew their commitment to their calling, and receive spiritual nourishment. The rally was a testament to the vibrant faith and dedication of the parish community.
