ARCHDIOCESE OF KARACHI SET TO CELEBRATE ITS DIAMOND JUBILEE

Karachi: The year-long Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Archdiocese of Karachi are going to begin on Sunday, May 28, 2023 (1700 hrs) at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Karachi under the leadership of His Grace Archbishop Benny Mario Travas with a series of events/celebrations in all the parishes of the diocese.

These celebrations have been chalked out in a video message by Archbishop Benny Mario Travas on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in which he asked for organizing different programs regarding the Archdiocese of Karachi’s diamond jubilee with religious spirit.
In the past, the Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi was a part of the Archdiocese of Bombay, but with the creation of Pakistan in 1947, Karachi was separated from the Archdiocese of Bombay and made a separate unit on the 24 May 1948.
The theme for this jubilee year-reflect, rejoice, and renew-is based on the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 36, verse 26, which says a new heart I will give you and a new spirit I will put within you.
Celebration programs for the whole year have already been arranged.
