According to St. Luke, the angel Gabriel greeted Holy Mary. Who was Gabriel? An angel who serves as a messenger of God for certain people. When he brought the marvelous news of John’s birth to Zechariah, he introduced himself and said, “I am Gabriel, standing before God, and I have been sent to tell you the good news of these things.” St. Luke 1:19).

In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a virgin, of Nazareth, named Mary. Gabriel greeted the Blessed Virgin Mary with these words. “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you (St. Luke 1:28). Gabriel’s greeting to the Holy Mary was the first step towards the salvation of mankind. “Hail (Mary) full of Grace”. These greeting words are taken directly from the words of the angel Gabriel. Only the name of St. Mary is included after the Angel’s greeting and Catholic Christians hail the majesty of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the words of the angel Gabriel.

Satan does not like to greet St. Mary. Since every time we greet the Holy Mother Mary in the words of the angel Gabriel, Satan feels defeated by the new Eve, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Therefore, we must never stop reciting the prayer of peace, ‘Hail Mary, Full of Grace’, at the behest of false teachers. In the Garden of Eden, God addressed the serpent (Satan). “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel.” (Genesis 3:15).

The woman mentioned above is the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the connotation from the woman’s offspring is our Lord Jesus Christ. Who was born of the Virgin Mary. The one who overcame Satan by his power. All human beings that are born are called Mankind because they are from the male race. The Lord Jesus Christ was born by the power of the Holy Spirit. That is why he is called “The Son of Mary” (St. Mark 6: 3). Since Satan has always attacked Holy Mary this is not surprising. Even today he criticizes her greatness, her sanctity, her virginity and her status. Using different people for his tactics.

The angel Gabriel greeted the Blessed Virgin Mary, calling her blessed among the women, and said, “Blessed are thou among women.” He himself explained the reason why she had received grace from God. Biblical citation “The angel said to her, “Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High,” (Luke 30-32)

God gave St. Mary the privilege of being the mother of His Son. What greater honor could there be for the Blessed Virgin Mary? When the Blessed Virgin Mary asked the angel how this would happen as she was unfamiliar with the man, Gabriel replied, “The Holy Spirit will descend on you.” And the power of the Almighty will overshadow you. And for this reason he will be called the Holy Son of God (St. Luke 1: 34-35). After the angel’s explanation, St. Mary, expressing her consent, said, “Behold, I am the Lord’s servant.” Agree with me according to your word.

When the Holy Mary went to her cousin Elizabeth and greeted her. As soon as Elizabeth heard the salutation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the child leaped into her womb. What a great thing. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost, and cried with a loud voice, saying, “Blessed are thou among women. Blessed is the fruit of your womb” (St. Luke 1: 41-42). We also say in the words of Holy Elizabeth in the prayer of ‘Hail Mary’, that “you are blessed in women and blessed is the fruit of your womb (Jesus).”
