Tributes to Sr. Dr. Ruth Pfau services | Catholics in Pakistan
Karachi: 9th September marks the birthday of Sr. Dr. Ruth Pfau to commemorate this day Very Rev. Fr. Saleh Diego, Vicar General of Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi and Parish Priest of St. Philip’s Parish, Karachi organized Eucharist celebrated mass at St. Philip’s Parish Catholic Church Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
A state funeral with full national honours was held on August 19, 2017 in Karachi for Dr Ruth Pfau, a symbol of selflessness and devotion who passed away at the age of 87.
Pfau was a German-Pakistani doctor who dedicated her life to helping leprosy patients in Pakistan and is one of the founders of Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC).
Dr. Ruth Pfau laid to rest in Karachi after State Funeral
The Eucharistic Mass celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Saleh Diego with Deacon Waseem Parviez and Deacon Joseph Saleem to pay tributes the services of Sister Dr. Ruth Pfau, a German nun who spent more than 50 years helping Pakistan’s most vulnerable people and fighting against leprosy.
Deacon Joseph Saleem in his homily highlighted the routine, passions and practices in whole of her life. he encouraged the participants to adopt a single practice of Sr. Dr. Ruth Pfau to continue her mission for humanity.
Mr. Mansha Noor, Executive Secretary of Caritas Pakistan Karachi and Mr. Saleem Michael Advocate, Legal Adviser of Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi and Master Rehmat highlighted the services of Sr. Dr. Ruth Pfau and honored great tributes to her selflessness services and efforts to end leprosy in Pakistan.
