Fix your eyes upon the King of Kings, and not on yourself, Bishop Samson

Hyderabad: 20th November 2016 was a great day for the Universal Church as they celebrated the feast of Christ The King and its a day when Pope Francis closed the Mary Door in Vatican and it is the last Sunday of liturgical year.

St-Elizabeth Parish also celebrated these great events in spiritually faith. His Lordship Bishop Samson Shukardin was the principal celebrant at the Eucharist in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Latifabad No. 10.

He preached on the role of king, he said “Today everyone wants to be a big and rich man they want every thing in their hands, on the other hand we see the life of Jesus Christ who is merciful, compassionate, loving and caring, Redeemer of the world”.

Bishop also remind that last year on December 8, 2015, His Holiness pope Francis announced the Year of Marcy and opened the Marcy Door. Now, today on 20th November 2016 on the solemnity of Christ the King we closed the Marcy Door.

Bishop Samson told while concluding that, today is the last Sunday of the liturgical year and from 27th November 2016 church will start the Advent Season. “It’s the season of telling and re-telling the story of why God came into this world, the Incarnation, and also pointing and looking forward to His coming again”.
